The White Plains PBA is proud to announce that one of its members, Brother Tony Cuervo, competed in the recent Boston Marathon. He finished the race with a time of exactly three hours. The PBA wishes to recognize his efforts, which have included competition in other races, as well as all the hard work he has invested in this endeavor. Congratulations, Tony!

Heroin Use Awareness Message
The White Plains PBA has been concerned with the sudden dramatic rise in drug overdoses in the community. The rise in heroin overdoses resulting in the tragic deaths of our young people is of particular concern. Please view the public service message produced by the White Plains PBA and narrated by President Robert Riley.

Helping the Fight Against Cancer
The PBA recently presented the White Plains Hospital Dickstein Cancer Center with a check for $1600.00 in support of the ongoing fight against cancer. All the proceeds from the PBA shirt sales were donated for that cause. Additionally, the PBA has made other financial donations to such organizations as the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation for the same cause. That particular contribution was a direct result of one of our PBA members fundraising efforts at Yankee Stadium this past August. The PBA sponsored that member as part of a walk-a-thon at the stadium. These efforts are part of the ongoing efforts of the PBA to help the community in this worthy cause.

Remembering Those in Need
As part of the ongoing PBA community outreach programs, the PBA supplied the Grace Church Community Center with funds to purchase over 160 meals during the recent Thanksgiving holiday season. Although the holiday season is often a joyous time, the PBA recognizes that many people struggle daily to meet their basic needs. To that end, the PBA continues to assist those members of the community who are most in need.
